bream flies
"Fooling fresh fish with flies is all about behavior, color, and size!"
Most of the housing developments in this region of the state have a pond or two to collect and manage our rain water. The management of the developments put fish in the ponds to keep them from going sour. Bream do a very good job at keeping the water moving and keeping the vegetation and critters under control. In the process, along with the extended growing season, they can get quite large. This page showcases our bugs that target the bream.

Bream Flies: These are some of the most over looked and abundant fish in the coastal region. It seems like every housing development has a pond. These little guys love ponds. Plenty of food and very few predators allow these fish to grow to huge proportions. It's not uncommon to find 1 or 2 pound bluegills lurking in a weed bed waiting to pounce. They will eat almost anything, insects, tad poles, polliwogs, or their own young, they are not that picky.
